New or returning, we welcome you all to the 2022-23 Girls Club Season at the Arizona Region of USA Volleyball!
On behalf of the Arizona Region of USA Volleyball, welcome! We are so excited for another fun and competitive season of juniors volleyball!
Whether you're new to club volleyball or a veteran of many years, I hope this explainer will "serve" as a guide for understanding season schedules, team divisions, and the progression from the start of the season to the end.
Please be sure to follow #AZRegion in social media on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter so you never miss our updates!
The "Arizona Region" is a region within the network of USA Volleyball.
USA Volleyball has 40+ regions around the U.S.
Our region has been around for more than 30 years! We offer indoor and beach volleyball for all ages... male and female.
For junior boys and girls indoor volleyball, qualifying teams can compete at the end of the season with athletes from all the other regions at USA Volleyball nationals.
Your player's coach will be able to tell you if your team is in the CLUB, CHAMPIONSHIP, or OPEN division.
The CLUB division is for the newer players to the game. This is a great division to practice the fundamentals, learn strategy, and have fun with your teammates!!
Each member of the team should be learning all positions, rotations, and improving overhand serving.
Club teams typically don't travel out of state. But they CAN compete in a lot of the fun holiday tourneys offered throughout the season!
The CHAMPIONSHIP division is great for younger players who are able to hang with a little tougher competition and for older players who may not want to travel as much.
Again, the goal is learn all the positions and improve your overall game.
OPEN division for the more experienced teams. At this level, athletes may play a "position" such as an outside hitter, setter, or libero. But all players should practice in each position and be continually learning about the game.
Team schedules are released about 2 days before the tourney date. Dates and times are subject to change. Please check back the evening before your game to double check your location and game time.

Higher level teams may be competing in additional tournaments throughout the season to get a bid to Boys or Girls Junior National Championships.
Below, you'll see the age groups, divisions, dates and locations of national championships.
You can ask your player's coach if your team will be competing in qualifying tournaments.
The Arizona Region of USA Volleyball offers a qualifying tournament for region teams. It's called "AZ NCQ" and stands for Arizona Region National Club Qualifier.
In order to compete in the AZ NCQ, clubs must register by the deadline for each age division.
Qualifying teams throughout USA Volleyball may compete at GJNC.
