Has a friend asked you to fill in for them on a volleyball league? Does your club have open gyms during high school season?
Participating in these events could, potentially, ruin your high school volleyball experience.
This is a friendly reminder for club directors and coaches to share with high school athletes.
The AIA or Arizona Interscholastic Association - which oversee high school sports in the State of Arizona - outline very specific rules about nonschool participation in volleyball.
Again, while the Arizona Region of USA Volleyball is not affiliated with AIA, we do feel it’s important all athletes are aware of the rules.
The Arizona Region coordinates a "Quiet Period" and tryouts post high school season to assist clubs in not violating AIA guidelines.

This rule applies to the following team sports: football, flag football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, track relay and swimming relay teams. For purposes of this rule, the interscholastic season of competition shall begin on the competition date as set in the policies and procedures of each sport and conclude with that particular team's final game.
Any student violating the above rule shall forfeit his/her eligibility for a minimum of the balance of the season for that sport or up to a maximum of one calendar year.
DON’T JEOPARDIZE YOUR HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL CAREER.
KNOW THE RULES.
