AZ REGION JUNIOR GIRLS OPEN DIVISION

Check In Time: All teams must be checked in no later than:  7:30 am. 

Coaches meetings will be held at 7:30 am.  Teams not checked in prior the the Coaches meetings could be assessed a penalty.

Tournament START Time: 

•  8 am - START time for all divisions.

Check-in should be completed at the tournament desk no later than 1/2 hour prior to the tournament first scheduled match start time. A picture ID for each coach on the roster is required along with a medical release form for each player on the roster. A current VERIFIED SportsEngine or event AES roster is required to be signed and turned into the site director for use at the tournament. VERIFIED means that it shows that the players and coaches are ELIGIBLE.  There is an 8 point penalty to the team's first match if the coach is not checked in 1/2 hour prior to the first match start time of the tournament and does not attend the coach's meeting.  If a team drops the format WILL CHANGE. All teams should be checked in, on site and ready to play in the first match of the day in the event a team does drop late.

• Rosters are required to have correct jersey numbers. The rosters will be checked off by the site director at check in. Teams should provide a SportsEngine roster that shows verified players and coaches.

Format

Teams are straight seeded into divisions of 6, 7 or 8, depending on the final number of teams.  

Pool play will be followed by a cross-pool match of the corresponding finish in the other pool of the division. 

Following this tournament, 3 teams will move up and 3 teams will move down and 2 teams will stay in the division for the next tournament play, (There is no movement following the last regularly scheduled tournament before Region Championships.  All teams will stay as they finished for seeding the Region Championships).

Match play is best 2 of 3 sets to 25, 3rd set to 15, if needed.

Ties will be resolved by the USAV procedure adopted for 2020 (paraphrased as follows):

1. 2-way tied by match % - the head-to-head winner of those 2 teams earns the higher pool finish
2. 3-way tied by match % - finish determined by set % (sets won / total sets played)
   • if 2 teams are tied by set % after one team's finish is determined by having the highest or lowest set %, then the head-to-head winner of those 2 teams earns the higher pool finish. 
3. 3-way tie by match % and set % - finish determined by point % (points won / total points played)
   • if 2 teams are tied by point % after one team's finish is determined by having the highest or lowest point %, then the head-to-head winner of those 2 teams earns the higher pool finish.
