Matrix Club Volleyball and the Estrella Foothills High School boys volleyball communities are mourning the loss of a beloved teammate.
15-year-old Jonah Moran passed away this week, leaving a legacy his coach explains as, "I will miss his fierceness. I will miss his leadership. I will miss his competitiveness. Mostly, I will just miss the hell out of him," writes Coach Michael J. Matteson.
On Thursday, May 11, 2023, Estrella Foothills High School and Deer Valley boys volleyball teams - after their Final Four AIA match - gathered center court to remember and honor Jonah Moran.
Matrix Volleyball Club notes Jonah's positive impact on his friends and teammates, "Jonah, you will be in our hearts and will be missed more than we can put into words. #6"
Phoenix Children's Hospital and the Moran family held an "Honor Walk" on May 11th. "Jonah will continue to live through others as he wanted to be an organ donor," shares Matrix Club Volleyball.
