DR. ANGELA GRIFFIN

May 11th at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Angela Griffin, will discuss “Psychological Skills Training: Defining the Ultimate Athlete."
 
Dr. Griffin has been an athlete, including women’s professional football and brings her unique skill set and training toward youth athletes.
 
Dr. Griffin has over 20 years of experience treating Veterans dealing with trauma and specializes in techniques designed to detox toxic thinking that leads to performance anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, stress, and emotional dysregulation.
 
Knowing that each athlete and their experience is unique, she incorporates athlete-centered therapy and tailors specific skills to meet the needs of athletes while understanding the importance of mental health and sports
performance.

SHELLEY SMALL

May 12, 5:00p Shelley Small, former coach at Colorado College and former Director of Education at USA Volleyball will discuss “Three-Dimensional Coaching.”

In this presentation, Small will ask coaches to take inventory of athlete’s physical AND mental well being looking at Level I- Fundamentals, Level II- Psychology and Level III- Heart.

Small has been immersed in volleyball at all levels and offers a wonderful perspective for both beginning and advanced coaches. She was a standout at Baylor University, a club coach and high school coach for both girls and boys and a developer of youth programming.

NICOLE DAVIS M.A.

May 13th at 9:00a, 2X USA Olympic Libero and 2X silver medalist Nicole Davis M.A. and current Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology will talk about her journey and her new field of study, “Mental Skills Under Pressure.”

Her Olympic and Professional career has helped shape Davis’s focus in this area and her current work with Dr. Michael Gervais has made her a sought after athletic and corporate resource.
