Region Championships Information

  • Coaches Meeting: 7:30 am or 2:30 pm START Time
  • Tournament START Time:  8 am or 3 pm

Region Championships tournaments are here. The format is very different than our regular power tournaments. For the Gold Divisions of 11s and 12s, the tournament will start the 1st match at 8 am and last most of the day instead of just half day. For teams in 12s Group 2 (not in contention for the Gold), the  tournament will start at 8 am or 3 pm and last for approximately 6-7 hours.  Lots of information follows. Please read it!!

Parents: There is no lunch break built into the tournament. Please bring food with you or send someone for food. Neither the coach nor the players should leave the site for food. Do not stop for lunch when moving to another site for bracket play. The bracket play will start when teams have arrived to start the tournament. Sites are in contact with each other to know when play has ended at each site. Penalties for being late to ref assignments or match play will be enforced. Several sites have snack bars open for business if food can't be brought with you.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY FOOD OR DRINKS INTO ANY GYM. ALL COOLERS ARE TO BE LEFT OUTSIDE. NO EXCEPTIONS ARE ALLOWED AT ANY GYM. ONLY WATER IN CLOSED CONTAINERS FOR PLAYERS AND COACHES IS ALLOWED IN THE GYMS.

NO COOKING OR HEATING OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED AT ANY OF OUR SITES AS WELL.

NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED ON THE CAMPUSES OF ANY OF OUR SITES - NOT EVEN ON A SATURDAY OR SUNDAY FOR ADULTS ONLY. THE SCHOOLS ARE ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND DRUG FREE ZONES 24/7 - THIS IS A STATE LAW.

PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR TEAM CAMP AREA. PLEASE BAG YOUR TRASH AND TAKE IT WITH YOU. DO NOT LEAVE WRAPPERS AND FOOD BEHIND. THIS IS ALSO A GOOD WAY TO MAKE SURE NO OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS ARE LEFT BEHIND.

Coaches:

  • Check-in should be completed at the tournament desk no later than 1/2 hour prior to the tournament first match start time. A picture ID for each coach on the roster is required along with a medical release form for each player on the roster.  There is an 8 point penalty to the team's first match if the coach is not checked in 1/2 hour prior the tournament first match start time or does not attend the coach's meetings - even if the team is off the first match.
  • A current verified SportsEngine roster or event specific AES roster is required to be signed and turned into the site director for use at the tournament. 

Division Play -

The seeding is based on the finish of the last power tournament. There was no movement up or down after the last tournament. Teams stayed in the order of finish for seeding of the Region Championships. Teams are snake seeded into pools of 6-7 teams within their respective age divisions:

  • 11 Club - 18 teams
  • 12 Club Gold - 36 teams
  • 12 Club Group 2 - 58 teams
  1. 11 Club - 3-team pools followed by 6 team brackets.  1st places to Gold, 2nd places to Silver, 3rd places to Bronze.
  2. 12 Club Gold - Pools A-L will be 3 team pools that will cross pool for bracket determination.  
    • Pool A will cross with Pool L; Pool B will cross with Pool K, Pool C will cross with Pool J; Pool D will cross with Pool I, Pool E will cross with Pool H, Pool F will cross with Pool G.
    • 6 Team brackets - Winners 1st vs 1st to Gold; losers to Silver; Winners 2nd vs 2nd to Bronze, losers to Flight 1; Winners 3rd vs 3rd to Flight 2, losers to Flight 3.
  3. 12 Club Group 2:
    • 5 groups of 8 teams playing in a power bracket.  All teams will play out for place.
    • 3 groups of 6 split into 3-team pools that will cross to play out for place.   

Most teams will not need to travel to another site for their bracket play. 12 Gold Division may move to another school for their brackets.  The brackets will be 4-6 team single elimination brackets with consolation games for place.  Pools listed below are the starting locations.

  • 12 Club Group 2 - all teams will stay where they start to play out their power bracket.  No  movement between sites.
