The 2013 Boys Region play is winding up. Region Championships are all that is left.
Boys HP Tryouts will be held Feb 2nd at Grand Canyon University - 2 pm - 5 pm. Register with USAV to tryout Cost is $65 until Jan 30. $100 to walk up.
Arizona Region will be sending one Boys' team to HP Championships. More information will be posted regarding the team and coaches as it is formalized.
2013 Junior
Boys National Championships location will be Reno, NV. The Pre-Tournament manual will be posted on the USAV website in January.

Dallas, TX will
host the 2013 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships.

High Performance
USA Volleyball will host a Boys HP Tryouts in Arizona on Feb 2, 2013 and a Girls HP Tryouts on March 22, 2013. The Arizona Region will post the Girl's HP Tryouts for the Arizona team in early February.
The Arizona Region will be sending one Boys' and one Girls' team to the HP Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in July.

Girls Score/Ref Clinics - Clinics have been added below
The Girls Score/Ref clinics will be done a little differently this season. With the advent of online training a new integrative website has been developed by USA Volleyball for official's training.
The website is www.volleyballreftraining.com. To access the modules Click on Training Materials, then click on Junior Training Materials. The modules to be taken for Scorer are Junior Scorer and Libero Control. The modules to be taken for Referee are Junior Second Referee and Linesman. Those are the required modules. Feel free to take other modules for education as you wish. There is a lot of very good information on the website. Encourage your parents to view the modules as well to educate them on the rules of the game.
Remember that a junior player cannot be allowed to be a second referee, perform scorer duties or line judge unless they have completed the specific training modules. All coaches are required to do the same, since they must supervise all reffing team duties. The object of the modules is to train the players and coaches to be proficient in their officiating duties - not only for their knowledge but for the smooth operation of the tournaments. It is an important part of keeping the day running smoothly.
If your club is outside the Phoenix or Tucson Metro areas, or if you do not have a current "Train-the-Trainer" certified coach, we highly recommend that your club choose the online clinic training program and view the modules as a team/group.
The Arizona Region requirements for the 2012-2013 season is for all girls teams in the 15's - 18's age groups to take the clinic online.

2. Each team can sit together with computer screen being projected on the wall and take the modules together. |
Either way the club will then fill out a spreadsheet for the club or a Verification Form for each team of who took which modules and forward to the Region office. The info will then be put in each person's record in Webpoint. We were originally told that the information would automatically be inserted in Webpoint after completing the modules but we have found that not to be the case - at least for this year. There is no need to complete the course FOR CREDIT on the website since it will not be integrated into Webpoint. They do not need to do the test - just view the module and answer the questions that arise during the module.
The 12's - 14's teams will have to take a live clinic. Those clubs that are large and have a meeting place large enough to handle their teams may schedule their own clinic by emailing JR Salima AND Jim Feickert Other clinics have been scheduled below. Teams shall email the Region Office or call 480-626-6740 to RSVP for a time slot. The RSVP will include up to 5 (4 players and a coach) for the Scorer Clinic and up to 5 (4 players and a coach) for the Referee Clinic for the same time slot. The time slots are scheduled below:
