Parents - We are now in the mid-point of our tournament schedule. It seems that
the majority of parent issues this season overall has been in the 12's
division. Now that we all know how the tournaments work let's work
on our behavior
at tournaments.
- Parent
Code of Conduct - please read this over for your education
- This is 12's - all players are learning and it is supposed to be FUN - not pressure
packed and competitive.
- Parents are not to approach the score table nor yell "Score, Score" or "Point,
Point" at the kids keeping score. The ref teams are young players,
scorekeepers and referees just like your daughter. Please refrain
from yelling at them. The coach can take care of any point discrepancies
- it is their job to notice it.
- Cheer for all good plays regardless of who makes them.
- Be aware of how your behavior in cheering is affecting
everyone around you. Noisemakers are not allowed at our tournaments
due to the interference with play on adjoining courts.
- Let the kids learn and play without your "Help". They just need your support.
The coach and players need to work together without parental intervention
for them to work as a team.
NOTE: A team was added to the division for this tournament and forward. The
divisions were reformatted to accomodate the new team and numbers.
The teams were moved up or down first and then the divisions were reformatted.
No team lost a position as a result of this reformat.
Effective immediately there is no cooking of any kind at any of our sites by
teams - no crock pots, sterno heated chafing dishes, barbeque grills
(gas or otherwise), nothing that requires heating. Picnic tables are
allowed for congregating and keeping food out of the gyms and in the
team camp area. But please refrain from banquet tables with food spread
out all day. Please also bring refillable bottles of water instead
of relying on small bottles of water that are thrown away at the end
of the day - most of them still very full. Please bag all your team's
trash and take it home with you to dispose of. There is so much trash
left at sites that we are on the verge of being charged for a trash
dumpster at some sites.
