65th Annual Boyce Awards Banquet
Each
year, USAV hosts the Boyce Awards Banquet to honor indivduals from
around the country for their dedication to volleyball. This year,
the event will be held in Phoenix in conjunction with USAV National
Meetings and the Adult Open National tournament. The banquet will
be held at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix Hotel on Thursday, May
27. The AZ Region is looking for 10 adult volunteers to help with
set up (noon-4 pm) and check-in or silent auction (4 pm - 9 pm).

SOAZ 2010 Summer Games
The Special Olympics
Arizona's 2010 Summer Games are coming up. Here are the details
about this exciting opportunity for you and your family to be "Day
of Event" volunteers and support the volleyball related events.
This is a life enhancing experience for everyone interested in sharing
their love of volleyball with the Athletes and their family members
at the Summer Games. The smiles are lifetime smiles.

Friday
(April 30th) - An outdoor volleyball net is being set up
for volunteers to demonstrate and teach basic volleyball skills
to everyone interested in exploring the fun sport of volleyball.
9:00 AM to 11:00
AM - Volunteers needed
2:00 PM to 4:00
PM - Volunteers needed
7:00 PM to 9:00
PM - Opening Ceremonies & Dance! Everyone is invited to attend
this amazing, do not miss experience!
Saturday
(May 1st) -
There will be a Clinic/Skills Station event in the gym from 9:30
AM to 11:30 AM for volunteers to demonstrate and teach basic volleyball
skills to everyone interested in exploring the fun sport of volleyball.
There will be Exhibition Games played by the City of Tempe's Unified
Sports Volleyball Team from Noon to 1:30 PM with volunteers invited
to cheer on the Athletes and Partners as they play and answer any
questions that any spectators have regarding the action on the volleyball
court.

planning purposes. Also, please feel free to share this information
with everyone that you think will be interested in volunteering
and enjoying an amazing opportunity to share the fun of volleyball
through this community outreach project.

sure if you can volunteer right now, no worries. Once you decide
that you are coming to volunteer to support the volleyball events,
please contact Theresa, or you can simply show up at Mesa Community
College and sign in at the VOLUNTEER CHECK - IN station to receive
your Volunteer Shirt and join us on the outdoor court or in the
gym.
