Arizona Sweeps Collegiate Club Nationals

The University of Arizona Men’s volleyball club teams won all three divisions (I,II & III) at the 2002 NIRSA Collegiate Volleyball Sport Club Championships in Dallas, Texas.  Jeff Grobe, setter for the Wildcats was named MVP and Matt Olson and Britt Burridge were chosen to the 1^st All-Tournament team in Division I.  The U of A defeated Providence in the championship.

Men’s Division II matched U of A-2 vs Cincinnati with the ‘Cats winning.  The MVP for DII was Allen Brown, OH for Arizona.  The All-Tournament team included Bill Lesho and Ty Hayes, both from UA.

Arizona-3 defeated CSU Sacramento-B in the DIII final.  Wildcat Justin Orkney was named MVP and teammates Evan Worle, Gilbert Myles and Blake Orlov earned All-Tournament honors.

This tourney has grown from less than 20 teams in 1985 to more than 175 in 2002.  The 2003 Championships will be held in Columbus, Ohio, during April.
