2012 Season is around the corner

All members must be registered online through the USAV WebPoint system. If you played in the past 5 years you should be in the system already but may need to request a username and password to access your info. If you have not been registered at all with USAV you will need to create the profile in the system. If you were registered in another region last season the Region Office will have to move your membership into Arizona BEFORE you renew the membership. NO ONE may register online for anyone else as there is a Waiver of Release and Liability and a Code of Conduct that must be electronically signed by the member only. It is illegal to sign for someone else unless the member is a minor and the one signing is the parent/guardian.

Go here to Register Online - if you have any questions, please call us - we can help you with any issues. The Region Office phone # is 480-626-6740.

Registration for the 2012 season will open on Sept 1st. Members will be able to pay online this season.

Team Reps should push their team members to register online now before the first tournament. Team Reps should send in a signed Tournament Agreement, the Team Registration form and payment to the AZ Region office before Dec 15th. The Team Registration form should list all the players expected to play with their team so that we can make sure they get placed on the roster. If the team is not playing in the first tournament this can be delayed into early January.

Payment for individual membership can be made with cash, check or credit card. Payment may be done online this season with a credit card - an Online Registration form must be sent in for each player that does not pay online. The AZ Region full adult membership is $50 for the 2012 season.

Adult players that are also registered with a Junior Club do not need to re-register but should be included on the Adult Team Registration form so we know they belong to the adult team. Please make sure to indicate that you are and adult player as well as a junior coach in WebPoint.

Forms needed to register an Adult team -

For the Individual - For the Team Rep -
Online Registration Payment Form ($50) - we only need this form if the player did not pay for their membership via credit card during the registration process Team Registration Form ($55/ team)
2012 Adult Tournament Agreement
Individual Tournament Entry Form ($150/tournament due 10 days prior)

Player Pool

We are also collecting names of interested players for the Player Pool of free agent players that may not be able to commit to a full season of play or have not found a permanent home of a team. The players in the Player Pool may be used twice by the same or different teams. After that the player is no longer able to be used unless they become a part of the team. Players must be registered members of the AZ Region for the current season to be placed in the pool.

To become part of the player pool send an email to the Region office with your name, contact info and a little bit about your playing experience, positions you have played, height and level of play. Email office@azregionvolleyball.org

2012 Open Nationals to be held in Salt Lake City, UT

USA Volleyball has selected Salt Lake City, UT for the 2012 Open National Championships. The tournament will be held from May 26th - June 2, 2012 in two sessions.

First session (May 26 - 29) - Divisions: Open, BB, B, 45's, 55's, 65's, 75's, Special Olympics National Unified.
Second Session (May 30 - June 2) - Divisions: AA, A, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, Coed Reverse BB/B, Coed Regular BB/B, U-Volley.

The pre-tournament manual will be posted when available on the USAV Website.

The Region deadlines to enter are as follows:

Division Region Deadline Cost - unknown if changed
Open Division March 16th $1250
U-Volley & Co-Ed March 16th $475
Seniors 60, 65, 75 March 16th $900
Seniors Women's 65 + & Men's 70 + March 16th $475
Club Division (AA, A, BB, B) March 25th $900
Masters & Seniors (40, 45, 50, 55) March 25th $900

Remember that a deadline is the LAST day to enter. You may enter anytime from January through the deadline. It is advised to get your entry materials in as soon as possible so that we can submit them early rather than just one week from the deadline.

This deadline means all entry into the AES System (Advanced Event Systems) must be complete and the entry form and fees are in the office. This gives us one week to verify all info and forward on to USA Volleyball before the actual tournament entry deadline. Please make sure to keep copies of everything that you submit and take it all with you to check in at the tournament. Make sure when you print anything off that the date it was printed is on the paper so that it can be verified. This is always an issue at check in if you have added players after the initial entry and can cost you money if you don't have proof - make sure to also update the tournament roster in the system with the new players added so that they show up on the tournament side. New this year for Seniors, U-Volley and Co-Ed teams - if only 4 teams register by the early deadline, each team will be contacted to see if they want to compete in a 4-team tournament without the designation of a national champion, team/individual awards and recognition. Therse criteria will be applied only to those qualifying tournaments that are 5 years old or less. There is a possibility that the tournament days and the fees will be reduced accordingly.

Enter Online through Advanced Event Systems
